Purpose of Church Facilities
Mafair’s facilities exist primarily to support worship services, Bible studies, prayer groups, discipleship training, and church-led ministries. Additional use is permitted for members and non-members for events such as weddings, receptions, showers, and funerals. Fees may be charged to cover expenses incurred by the church.
- Church-run ministries and church-sponsored programs are those approved by the Church Leadership Council.
- Church-sponsored programs that provide spiritual, educational, or human welfare support—open to both members and non-members—may use the facilities at no charge.
- Non-church-sponsored programs may use the facilities if they align with the Social Principles and ecumenical objectives of The United Methodist Church. These programs must be approved and follow these guidelines.
Product Sales and Fundraising
- Sales by church-run or church-sponsored ministries are permitted if proceeds support Christ’s mission and are approved by the Church Leadership Council.
- Non-church-sponsored groups may not use facilities primarily for commercial purposes. Incidental sales may be allowed with approval.
- No tickets may be sold, no money collected, and no sales may occur in worship spaces.
Room Usage and Scheduling
- Rooms are not permanently assigned. The largest church-affiliated group has priority for larger rooms.
- Only Church Office Staff may schedule rooms or make changes to the official calendar.
- The Church Leadership Council will set annual dates for major church events, which receive scheduling priority.
- Groups may not schedule events on consecutive weekends, except under special circumstances.
Reservation Requirements
All non-regularly scheduled users must complete a Room/Event Reservation Form.
To reserve a space, submit the following to the Church Office:
- A completed Room/Event Reservation Form
- A signed Indemnity/Hold Harmless Agreement
- Any required fees

Room reservations require 100% of the fee up front. Additional charges may apply for spills or damage. Weddings may not be booked more than six months in advance.
Audio/Visual Use
- Use of the sanctuary sound system requires a $100 fee and operation by a qualified Mafair representative.
Facilities Use Guidelines
- Use only scheduled rooms and avoid interrupting other groups.
- Follow all staff instructions and signage.
- Conserve electricity by turning off lights when finished.
- Serve food/drink only in approved areas.
- Leave room in original condition.
- Do not move or use church equipment without approval.
- No animals are allowed inside, except service animals.
- Report any changes to scheduled events to the church office.
- No running, shouting, profanity, or disruptive behavior.
- No smoking, tobacco use, alcohol, or illegal drugs.
- Review parking needs with the church office in advance.
- An adult church member must be present at all times.
- Violating these guidelines may result in loss of building use privileges.
Responsibility and Liability
Users are responsible for damage to church property, personal property, and injuries occurring during their event.
